ABOUT

Prickle isn’t just a fledgling business - it’s a family of four. Lisa and Dan, a toddler called Zoe, and a dog Layla. The latter two provide moral support!
Why embroidery? Lisa turned her creative fingers to hand embroidery five years ago, and found she loved creating little hand-crafted treasures. “You should do this for a job!”, a few friends said. It didn’t seem realistic at first. How can you do detailed hand-embroidery with a toddler running around the house?
Luckily, Lisa’s background as a graphic designer meant she could easily express her creative designs on computer, and get a machine to do the dirty work. Voila! Prickle was born.
All that was left was finding someone with the hand-on skills to turn the ideas into finished products. That’s where Dan comes in. As a builder, Dan’s been able to use his tradie hands to create a range of different mounting options.
The end result means Lisa and Dan can do two things. Firstly, they can follow their dream of owning their own business while working from home and spending time with their growing family. Secondly, they can bring joy by creating a range of beautiful, meaningful gifts and homewares.
